No-exam life insurance
What types of applicants qualify, how the process works, and what changes if the carrier decides you need testing after all.
Most carriers now offer accelerated underwriting: qualified applicants can get approval fast, sometimes with no medical exam.
What it changes
Skipping the exam does not skip underwriting. Your answers to health questions are checked. Some applicants still need testing based on their profile.
Who tends to qualify
Typically applicants under roughly 60 seeking amounts within the carrier's normal limits can qualify for accelerated paths.
If testing is needed, it's usually a short visit (20 to 30 minutes) with a paramedic or nurse who draws blood and takes vitals. The results go to the carrier.
